Vegan athlete and ultra-runner Robbie Balenger will run 3,200 miles from California to New York in order to promote vegan ice cream brand NadaMoo.

The transcontinental run will begin from Huntington Beach, California and end in Manhattan, New York over the course of 75 days.

Supported by vegan ice cream brand NadaMoo, Balenger will run approximately 45 miles per day across the country as part of the brand’s Plant-Powered pro-vegan campaign.

According to the brand, the new pro-vegan campaign aims to support ordinary people as they accomplish extraordinary plant-powered activities to inspire others to do the same.

“I grew up in Georgia, and it wasn’t until I was well into my 20s that I began to consider how my own food choices affected my body,” said Balenger, who started running 6 years ago and became vegan in early 2018.

“My goal is to inspire people all across this country to start paying more attention to what they put inside of their bodies and to be an example of someone who has made a radical change and feels better for it.”

Balenger will begin the transcontinental run on March 16, fueled with plant-based food and NadaMoo’s coconut milk-based ice cream, making him the third athlete to run across the country.

“I hope to be an example for others that it is possible to thrive, not just survive, on a 100-percent plant-based diet,” Balenger concluded.

In 2020, NadaMoo plans to invite more vegan athletes to join its Plant-Powered campaign.
