Today it’s hard to understand how a major movie can get off the radar like this, but they’ve already shot a reboot of an Arnold Schwarzenegger action story.
Warner Bros. has finished rolling Eraser: Reborn, the movie reboot of Arnold Schwarzenegger which was released in 1996. On this occasion, the new version will be directed by John Pogue, responsible for El stigma del mal (2014) and Blood Brother (2018). While the protagonist will be Dominic Sherwood, which we have seen in Shadowhunters: The Mortal Instruments and Penny Dreadful: City of Angels. The cast will feature Jacky Lai, McKinley Belcher III and Eddie Ramos.
The movie Eraser: Reborn Post-production will currently begin and is expected to premiere in spring 2022, so it would not be unusual if we could see the first trailer later this year. For now, we do not have many details of the plot, but it will surely look a lot like the version of Arnold Schwarzenegger. On that occasion, with a budget of about 100 million dollars, 242 million were obtained at the box office around the world. Enough to be profitable, but not enough for it to get a sequel. That is why they now opt for the reboot.
What was the original movie about?
John “Eraser” Kruger (Arnold Schwarzenegger) He is a US Marshal agent who makes sure that nothing happens to protected witnesses. John is the best at his job, but everything will get very complicated when he must protect Dr. Lee Cullen (Vanessa Williams), a scientist who works for a large company that is developing very powerful weapons. But upon discovering that some managers are trying to sell top-secret electromagnetic pulse rifles to the terrorist Sergei Ivanovich Petrofsky (Olek Krupa), she is in danger.
The FBI investigates everything and sends John Kruger (Arnold Schwarzenegger) to protect it, but they will discover that there are many people in the United States government involved in the sale of those weapons. What will start a race for survival while trying to stop the Russian terrorists.
