Scotland’s Very First Vegetarian Sports Bar Launches

Five star luxury hotel Fairmont Hotel St. Andrews launched the very first vegetarian sports bar in Scotland that also caters to vegan sports enthusiasts.

Called “Zephyr Sports Bar,” the vegan-friendly sports bar was described as a fresh and healthy take on the classic sports bar featuring stylish design as well as vegetarian and vegan food and beverages.

The menu features Spicy Babaganoush (dish of mashed eggplant mixed with tahini, olive oil, and seasonings), Chill Buckwheat Noodles, Hirata Buns stuffed with Chili-Miso Seitan, and Sweetcorn & Pepper Sliders served with BBQ Jackfruit and Warm Sourdough with Mushrooms, Hazelnuts with Tarragon, and Dijon Pâté.

To celebrate the launch of the new vegetarian sports bar, Fairmont Hotel hosted local business owners, Scottish Olympic medalists, world champion curlers, and sports stars represented by Red Sky Management.

Guests were able to interact with Ryan Grant, British and lrish Lions and Scotland Rugby International; Ruaridh Jackson, Scotland Rugby International; Sammi Kinghorn, World Champion and World Record Holder Wheelchair Racer; Eilidh Doyle, Scotland’s most medaled athlete; and many more.

“What a pleasure it was so see so many amazing Scottish sporting names enjoying our brilliant new Zephyr Sports Bar,” said John Keating, general manager of Fairmont Hotel.

“We are proud to offer a new venue to our guests and locals in which to enjoy the biggest and best sporting events in the Fairmont St. Andrew in style.”

Local singer and songwriter Yasmin Worrall ended the night with various songs ranging from classic hits to acoustic pop.

Zephyr Sports Bar is open from 5:00 PM to 12:00 AM from Monday to Thursday, 3:00 PM to 12:00 AM every Friday, and 12:00 PM to 12:00 AM every Sunday.
