Man arrested, charged for punching 82-year-old, robbing him at LES bodega: police

LOWER EAST SIDE, Manhattan — A 42-year-old man was arrested in reference to the assault of an 82-year-old man at a Manhattan bodega Wednesday morning.

Raoul Hyacinthe can be accused of stealing the sufferer’s cane.

It occurred inside a bodega within the neighborhood of East Broadway and Clinton Road within the Decrease East Aspect round 6:20 a.m., police stated.

The sufferer was shopping for a cup of espresso when a person approached him and demanded cash, police stated.

When he refused, Hyacinthe allegedly raised his fist on the 82-year-old and threatened to punch him and steal his cane if he didn’t give cash, in keeping with police.

When the sufferer continued to refuse, Hyacinthe punched him within the head and snatched his cane, video surveillance obtained by police exhibits.

The sufferer sustained a minor head harm and refused medical consideration, authorities stated.
