After six years of record silence, Iron Maiden strikes again with Senjutsu, the seventeenth album in a career that has now spanned 46 years, and throughout which they forged their status as an essential reference in the history of heavy metal in particular and rock in general.

The veteran British band announced this Monday, July 19, that the release date of Senjutso It will be on September 3.

It is a double album, which will somehow “redeem” the group after its long impasse that, however, had them touring the world, until the Covid-19 pandemic forced to restrict public shows at the planetary level.

Translated into Spanish as “tactics and strategy”, the record company also reported that the material was recorded at the Guillaume Tell studio in Paris, an old cinema in the French capital where Bruce Dickinson, Steve Harris and company had already worked in the past.

“The place has a very relaxed atmosphere. The setup is perfect for our needs; the building used to be a movie theater and it has a very high ceiling, so there is excellent acoustics,” Harris explained.

“Sometimes that process is challenging, but Kevin is great at capturing the essence of the band and I think it was worth all the effort,” added the bassist of the formation, “very proud” of the result.

Senjutsu82 minutes long, it will be released in digital, double CD and triple vinyl formats and will be Iron Maiden’s first studio album since they released six years ago. The Book of Souls, another long-term job that reached number 1 in sales in Spain, among other countries.

Iron Maiden was scheduled to resume the European leg of the “tour” this summer. Legacy Of The Beast, but the sanitary conditions led them to postpone it until the summer of next year, when, among other appointments, they are planning a concert at the Lluís Companys Olympic Stadium in Barcelona on July 29.
