Is named I Me Mine And it is a book that brings together the musician’s memories, apart from collecting song lyrics both as a soloist and with The Beatles. Critics say it is “the closest we will get to George Harrison’s autobiography.”
This new expanded edition responds to a volume that originally appeared in 1980. The difference is that the enormous volume is now printed in color “and attaches never-before-seen footage.”
“I can not take it anymore. I decided: So far we have come. This is no longer fun, being in this band is depressing, this is all bullshit, thank you, I’m leaving (…) John and Yoko had terrible tantrums and spent their time yelling at each other, “George tells us.
The great guitarist explains it in the song Wow-Wow, included in his first solo album, the triple All Things Must Pass, which saw the light in 1970, barely separated the most important band in history.
George Harrison reflected in his song Wah-Wah the situation he was going through on the end of The Beatles.
Wow-Wow it was an annoyance turned into a song: “You have made me a big star by being there at the right time. / But I don’t need any wah-wah anymore and I know how sweet life can be if I can pull away. “
A limited memory
In 1980, an independent label called Genesis published the piece with a reduced circulation and only suitable for collectors. Each volume was signed by its author and the book, they said at the time, was the closest thing to the memories of one of Liverpool’s prodigious boys.
Olivia Harrison, his last wife and mother of his only son Dhani, said: “The essence of this book is found in the letters, and I believe that they have passed the tests of the passage of time. They have not aged because those letters speak of the eternal search of the human being, of his dilemmas, his joys and regrets “.
Pattie and George, the couple of the moment, which spanned 11 years.
I Me Mine reveals facets of a beatle who publicly transcended as someone quiet, but who actually had a rather complex and irreducible personality. Pattie Boyd, to whom Harrison was married for more than ten years, between 1966 and 1977, hinted that George “meditated for hours, but when he arrived the temptation of the flesh, he took drugs and partied ”.
A year after separating from Boyd, the definitive Olivia came into his life: “For George, black and white, up and down weren’t different.. It could be the quietest in the world, but also the loudest. Once the engines were hot, there was no human power that could stop it ”.
The enlarged and corrected version of I Me Mine: The Extended Edition Gives account of 141 songs Harrison’s, many of them handwritten in beautiful facsimile reproductions.

It contains, in addition to 50 stock photos, a peculiar chronology that goes from Harrison’s childhood in Liverpool, to the ill effects of Beatlemania early life, his relationship with India, aspects related to his leisure for gardening and his other great passion outside of music: motorsports.
The editorial Culture will publish it on September 13th, within its collection Introckspecciones. A volume of more than 600 pages essential for any human being.
