End of cycle and new faces in Chile

Santiago – Chileans once again surprised and leaned towards young candidates who embody a new generation of politicians in the presidential primaries of the left and right, showing that they seek changes to the model but gradually and moderately, according to analysts. Contrary to what the polls predicted, the most traditional candidates of the coalitions that competed in Sunday’s primaries were defeated, in which the political parties of the former ConcertaciĆ³n, the center-left conglomerate that ruled Chile for 20 years, were defeated after the end of the dictatorship of Augusto Pinochet (1973-1990).
