Germany announced this Monday that as of September 1 it will begin to apply a third booster dose of the coronavirus vaccine in adult and vulnerable populations.
But in addition, that third dose will also go to those who have received vaccines that are not messenger RNA, that is, Pfizer or Moderna, announced the German Minister of Health.
The third dose will effectively be one from Moderna or from Pfizer.
The German Health Ministry explained that the decision is in the interest of maintaining health precautions.
“The booster vaccinations will be done with one of the two messenger RNA vaccines,” the ministry reported, according to which this decision is “in the interest of preventive health care” and takes into account concerns regarding a “reduced immune response. or rapidly declining “in vulnerable people.
