Beyoncé and Jay-Z are on a mission to “spread the truth” and encourage their fans to go vegan this year.
In the introduction of the new vegan book The Greenprint: Plant-Based Diet, Best Body, Better World written by Marco Borges — trainer for celebrities such as Beyoncé, Shakira, and J-Lo — Beyoncé and Jay-Z shared their plant-based journey.
“The information is hard to ignore,” Beyoncé and Jay-Z said in a statement.
“The benefits of a single plant-based meal a day can have such a profound impact on our health and the environment.”
“We want to challenge you as we challenge ourselves to move towards a more plant-based lifestyle and acknowledge you for standing up for your health and the health of the planet.”
Borges collaborated with Beyoncé and Jay-Z last year to create 22 Days Nutrition — a 22-day vegan meal planner that helps people to easily transition to a plant-based diet.
“Psychologists have discovered that it takes 21 days to make or break a habit,” said Borges in the company’s website.
“We applied this principal to helping people live a healthier, more energetic and productive life and created the 22 Days Challenge.”
This year, Borges once again worked with Beyoncé and Jay-Z to launch a new plant-based movement named “The Greenprint.”
“Each of us [has the ability to change] our lives, the lives of our families, the health of our communities, and the condition of our world by making one powerful and basic choice — deciding what is on the tip of our forks,” Borges told PR Newswire in his announcement last year.
“Let’s define our own destiny. Let’s create our own Greenprint.”
The Greenprint movement is made up of 4 major tools: a book, documentary, digital tool, and clinical trial.
It aims to spread the plant-based message to the public.
The book was released in late 2018 and features nutritional guidelines, easy vegan recipes, and meal plans that can be added to 22 Days Nutrition’s meal plans.
The vegan documentary, on the other hand, will be released in late 2019.
Described as “more than just a documentary” by its producer 51 Minds Entertainment, the documentary will not only explore the positive effect of a plant-based diet on the world but also examine and solve the “real-life obstacles of underserved communities.”
The digital vegan tool is set to be released in spring 2019 and will educate users about plant-based diet and nutrition.
Moreover, the vegan tool will also give users a chance to win free lifetime Beyoncé and Jay-Z concert tickets.
Last but not the least, The Greenprint team conducted a clinical trial at Holy Name Medical Center in New Jersey.
The trial was conducted to support the science behind the movement’s book, documentary, and digital tool.
Participants were tested before and after trying the 22-day plant-based diet challenge.
According to the results, the participants experienced higher energy levels, better digestion, improved sleep, and healthier skin.
