Actress turned Duchess Meghan Markle encourages Prince Harry to make a healthier lifestyle change by eating less meat and more vegetables and fruits after getting married.

“Meghan is a keen animal lover and likes to eat vegan during the week and she has a strict no-fur policy,” a Royal Family insider told Express.

“She has also been encouraging Harry to eat less meat and more fruit and veg and is now keen to fully convert him to her views on hunting.”

The insider suggested that the prince is following Meghan’s diet so they can both be healthier when the baby arrives next year.

The decision was made days after Meghan gave Prince Harry an ultimatum regarding the British Royal Family’s annual Boxing Day tradition of pheasant shooting.

The animal-loving duchess forbade the prince from participating in this year’s tradition because it goes against her beliefs — that hunting is considered animal cruelty.

The couple had a rift last year when Prince Harry participated in wild boar hunting in Germany.

“Meghan wasn’t happy when she found out what Harry had been up to,” says the Royal insider.

“It upset her to think of him killing a defenseless animal.”

Prince Harry, despite participating in the annual hunt since 12 years old, will not be joining his brother this year as respect for his pregnant wife.

“Harry has always loved hunting and it has provided them with a great chance to bond as brothers, but now it looks like Harry’s shooting days are over,” confirms the insider.

Dominika Piasecka, spokesperson for vegan organization The Vegan Society, told The Sun: “We’re delighted to hear that the Duchess has been persuading Prince Harry not to take part in the Royal Christmas pheasant shoot.”

“Traditions are important for every nation but if they involve senseless killing, they should not be allowed to continue.”

The pregnant duchess is on a plant-based diet during weekdays but still eats animals during weekends to avoid any pregnancy risks as advised by the Royal doctors despite research proving that a plant-based diet is healthy for all stages of life.

Meghan still tries to lessen harm caused to animals by imposing a strict no-fur policy.
